Here’s a gig we’re mightily proud to put our name to: alongside DIY gig and performance collective Ideal Mexico, we’ll be presenting Gazelle Twin and Zamilska at The Art School in Glasgow on February 27. We can’t really give you a better introduction to the music Elizabeth Bernholz makes as Gazelle Twin other than the fairly extensive amounts we’ve written already – Alex Macpherson’s review of Unflesh, Luke Turner’s interview about the record and Alex Denney’s from 2010 and Sophie Coletta’s live review of her set at the M For Montreal festival. Suffice it to say, Unflesh was our favourite album of last year, and every time we’ve seen her live she’s turned in performances of unadulterated blood and guts conviction. We first heard Natalia Zamilska’s hammering, hefty rattlers at last year’s Unsound festival, with UNTUNE also taking up a spot in our top 100 albums of 2014. Stay tuned for an interview with her on the site next week, ahead of her set alongside OAKE at CTM. They’ll be joined by Claudia Nova, aka Glaswegian pop artist hausfrau, and self-described supergroup Dick-50, bringing their "holistic cradle-to-cradle approach". Full details are over at the Facebook event, while tickets are here, and we’d suggest you prime yourself by giving Unflesh and UNTUNE a play below:
