When I Was Otherwise (official video) – Gazelle Twin from Gazelle Twin on Vimeo.
Gazelle Twin has a new album of remixes by the likes of Scanner and John Foxx, called The Entire City Remixed, out at the moment. Here, we present a video for her track ‘When I Was Other’ by Sicily-born filmmaker Seb Patane. The low-budget but slick-looking video is a meeting of the sound world of Gazelle Twin and his artistic practice, featuring "references to minimalist sculpture, collage, assemblage, and repetitive durational performance."
Taking particularly notice of the line "Now you see me, now you don’t", he developed the visual response thus: "Some moments are in designed to be in synchronisation with the music, others are deliberately loose in order to give an almost improvised, accidental feel. There is a bit of a game play about disguise, revelation-tricks, realness, artifice, and a little magic…". Find out more about The Entire City Remixed here.
