Gazelle Twin has unveiled a new song, ‘The Well’.
Billed as the artist’s first solo piece of music since her 2018 album Pastoral, ‘The Well’ features on the soundtrack for forthcoming film The Power. Gazelle Twin, AKA Elizabeth Bernholz, has produced the full soundtrack alongside composer Max de Wardener, with ‘The Well’ standing as the only cut that Bernholz worked on alone. You can listen to it above.
"Working on The Power with [director] Corinna [Faith] and Max didn’t feel much like work," Bernholz says. "It was a long haul thrill, from our field trip to the derelict wing of Goodmayes Hospital to record squeaky trolleys and smashed pill bottles, to making countless experiments with samples, voice, and electronics, pushing them in every extreme direction we could think of. The results bring me a lot of joy. I hope the collaboration continues."
Supernatural thriller The Power is set in a crumbling East London Royal Infirmary in 1974. Written and directed by British filmmaker Corinna Faith, it will be available exclusively on streaming platform Shudder from April 8.
Bernholz’s work on The Power follows on from her contribution to the score for horror film Nocturne, which came out late last year.
Invada will release The Power OST on April 8, 2021.
