GASH! Fundraiser for Rio Cinema Featuring Muscle Up, Ziber, Fold & Kaos DJs

Music and art exhibitions in support of Hackney NFP picture house

Dalston institution The Rio Cinema has been part of cultural life in Hackney for 50 years but in recent years, it has been facing one existential threat after another. You can do your part to help keep the doors of this cinematic institution open by coming to a fundraiser on Saturday night… and by staying early into the hours of Sunday.

Local artist/DJs of the local goth/queer community, Proteus and Ruby Quick, are organising an all-nighter to be held at the Rio itself – and truly, what is more excellent than being allowed to wander around a lovely old cinema in the middle of the night – starting at 11pm and ending at 4am the next morning.

Tickets can be bought here and give you access to a rammed bill of DJs – Dahc Dermur VIII (Kaos), Glozier (Ziber), Lockhart (Fold), Wes Baggaley, Sob Story – in Screen One and the bar, plus underground music documentaries and photographic exhibitions of subcultures by Derek Ridgers, Yasmine Akim and the Kaos London Archive.
