Gang Of Four Album Announced

New full-length from post-punk stalwarts

Jon King and Andy Gill of Gang Of Four have announced the release of a new album, entitled Content, and a preceding single, ‘Who Am I?’.

Both the single and the album were written by the pair, and will be released by Groenland Deutschland GmbH; the single on 13 September, the album on 2 October.

The album will also be released in the form of an Ultimate Content Can, a bumper pack of delights including a book version of an art piece Jon and Andy have executed on ceramic tiles depicting the last 40 years of world history. At the time of going to press, it’s unclear whether this book will cover Ferry Aid, David Blaine’s much lauded Nelson’s Column impersonation or Varg Vikernes’ famous rejection of the Jew’s Harp due to its negro associations.

Speaking about the album, the pair said: "the tracks on Content are simple: vocals, guitar, bass, drums. It is a tough, loud sound.

"What we strive for in all of our songs, is to interpret the world in a way you haven’t seen nor thought of before. We think you’ll hear this in Content.”

The tracklisting for the album is as follows:

She Said ‘You Made A Thing Of Me’

You Don’t Have To Be Mad

Who Am I?

I Can’t Forget Your Lonely Face

You’ll Never Pay For The Farm

I Party All The Time

A Fruit Fly In The Beehive

It Was Never Going To Turn Out Too Good

Do As I Say

I Can See From Far Away

Second Life
