New Birkenhead music festival Future Yard has confirmed details of its daytime programme for 2019.
The festival will aim to celebrate Wirral’s heritage, and highlights its position between Wales and the port of Liverpool through a partnership with FOCUS Wales. Amongst the activities planned are cycling tours of Wirral’s Viking past, walking tours of the historic Priory and docklands, exhibitions from the LOOK Photo Biennial and Toucan Tango, insights into the local music scene and more.
Future Yard’s daytime programme will also celebrate the life and work of Welsh poet Hedd Wyn, featuring Lisa Jên of experimental Welsh folk group 9Bach performing his poem Yr Arwr, soundtracked by a new score from Wirral electronic music producer Lo Five.
The festival takes place from August 23-24 with headliners Anna Calvi and Bill Ryder-Jones playing amongst others. Find information and ticket links here.
