British producer Simon Chatterton creates, in his own words, “an alchemical rendering of the madness of war” through his innovative team Furious Fusion, and in August, he and the team that make up Furious Folly will perform two free, immersive open-air shows at Newbury’s Northcroft Park.
Chatterton collaborates with creative sound and lighting designer Mark Anderson of Dark Spark in order to provide a spectacular performance. Anderson takes inspirations from the realms of the industrial and technological, forming a fusion of the old and new, through light, sound, electronics and pyrotechnics. Chatterton, Anderson and the Corn Exchange lead a creative team in the exploration of getting to grips with the chaos of the First World War. Inspired by the spirit of the anti-war 20th century Dadaist movement, the collective explore the conflict of the past and present with both hope and tragedy. The shows at Northcroft Park will take place on August 29 and 30. For more information on this performance, which is part of Corn Exchange’s Free Outdoor Programme, see their website here.
