Fucked Up Detail New Album, ‘One Day’

It's built around the question, "What do you think you would do, or be able to accomplish, if you were just given one day?"

Fucked Up will kick off 2023 with the release of a new album, called One Day.

The Canadian band’s eighth studio album, following 2021’s Years Of The Horse, the new record is based around the question, "What do you think you would do, or be able to accomplish, if you were just given one day?" To mark the announcement, they’ve shared a video for the album’s title track, which you can watch above.

One Day sees vocalist Damian Abraham contribute lyrics to the band’s music for the first time since 2014 album Glass Boys. In a statement, he said: "It almost felt like it might be the last time I’d ever get to record vocals for anything. What do I want to say to friends who aren’t here anymore? What do I want to say to myself? There was a lot of inner reflection going on, and after retreating into the fantasy world with Year Of The Horse, this record is like we’re returning to real life.

Merge will release One Day on January 27, 2023.
