Leicester’s premier proponents of facial furniture, Kasabian, have announced the limited, download-only release of new track ‘Vlad The Impaler’.
Released as a taster of their forthcoming album The West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum, the track will be available from the band’s website www.kasabian.co.uk as of 7:30pm on March 31st until midnight on April 3rd.
According to the group’s axe-man, Serge Pizzorno: “Vlad is a total chaos tune. It’s a call out to all our people, the ones who are tuned into our radio station.”
To further whet appetites, the group have also announced details of an accompanying video for the tune, directed by Richard (The IT Crowd) Ayoade and starring Noel (Mighty Boosh) Fielding in the role of the “titular, bushy moustached, big eye-browed” Vlad.
Shot on a potato farm outside Doncaster, the video will also be available to watch on the band’s website as of March 31st, and on YouTube from April 1st.
West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum is due for release on June 8th.
