Rare Frankie Knuckles Remixes Reissued

Two remixes by Frankie Knuckles of Womack & Womack's 'MPB' will be reissued later this month by Melodies International

Melodies International, the label run by Floating Points, Mafalda, DJ Love On The Run and Elliot Bernard, is to reissue two rare remixes of Womack & Womack’s ‘MPB (Missin’ Persons Bureau)’ by Frankie Knuckles.

The original pressing of the record featured a number of remixes by Frankie Knuckles but two of those, the ‘Folk Version’ and ‘Paradise Ballroom Mix’, have become sought after rarities in the years since the record’s original release in 1989. The original track featured on Womack & Womack’s 1988 LP Conscience.

The two remixes have been remastered from the original tapes and will be reissued on 12" vinyl, featuring the original artwork, on May 25. You can hear the nine-minute ‘Paradise Ballroom Mix’, which was only originally made available in a limited quantity edition, above.

You can find more information on the reissue, and pre-order the record, here.
