LISTEN: Four Tet & RocketNumberNine

Stream 'Roseland', due for release on Kieran Hebden's label imminently

Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet, has spent the last couple of years releasing new music though his TEXT label, in a manner that typically involves minimal fanfare and run-up time, simply new slabs of wax hitting shelves and (generally) promptly selling out.

Hot off the heels of his 0181 compilation of older tracks and a recent single-sided 12" with an absurdly long title, the next release on the label looks set to be a collaboration between Hebden and London duo RocketNumberNine. The track ‘Roseland’, a slow-burning, jazzy number more akin to Hebden’s pastoral early work than anything he’s made recently, turned up on Soundcloud a couple of days ago, and is available for your streaming pleasure below. It was recorded and mixed by Sam Shepherd, aka Floating Points, a fellow London-based traveler through the realms surrounding house, jazz, funk and soul.
