Forward Strategy Group’s Labour Division is a highly-favoured album of 2012 in tQHQ, and one of the best releases on the Perc Trax label, who have themselves had a brilliant year of it. Now, FWDSG track ‘Industry & Empire’ has been used as the musical accompaniment for a film at a derelict coal mine in the Zollverein Zeche area, Essen, Germany. Oddly enough, it rather effectively sums up Forward Strategy Groups sonics of man meeting machine. Say the Humping Pact: "we travel around the world to find the locations that used to have or still have a lot of unrealized potential. We then bring our two bodies in relation to each sensitive spot on those beautiful artefacts of human persistence and attempt to release their potential through a mix of affective physicality and contemporary technology." Or, in English, ‘we get naked and hump the structure’. More humping across Europe here. Forward Strategy Group can be seen at Void at Corsica Studios this Saturday, November 10th – information here.
