Former Bush Tetras & B52s Unite In Command V

Album planned for October

We in Quietus Towers are rather partial to the American take on post punk that welded an anxious and rigging-taut funk to guitar dissonance. We’re therefore very excited that former singer of the Bush Tetras, Cynthia Sley, has joined one-time B52s collaborator Pat Irwin (also of the Raybeats and Eight Eyed Spy) and Rachel Dengiz in new group Command V.

The trio started working together after a chance meeting at a Lydia Lunch photography exhibition in New York, and have their debut album out on History Records (also home to James Chance) on October 11th. You won’t have to wait that long, though, because Command V have helpfully made their debut available to listen to online here. For the truly lazy who do not wish to leave the comfort of a Quietus page, check out the Soundcloud embeds.

Preceding Command V will be single ‘Lost On Me’ on September 27th. This will be backed with mixes from the likes of Optimo, Mighty Mouse, Max Pask, Jacques Renault and Night Plane.
