Last week, the Quietus was to be found musing on all the unusual places we’ve seen British Sea Power. Now we can confirm that this summer we’ll be adding another to the list as the group are to support the Flaming Lips at the Jodrell Bank radio telescope. Oh yes. "Already fixed in music history, The Telescope has been used to catch the echo of Doves’ guitar riff used in track Space Face which had been bounced off the Moon, acting like a ‘cosmic delay pedal’" reads the blurb. Now, on Saturday July 2nd the rock vibrations will be emanating from Flaming Lips’ ‘Pilot Can at the Queer of God’ or Sea Power’s ‘We Are Sound’ and bouncing off who knows what out in the cosmos. Tickets are onsale now, find out more about Jodrell Bank here and watch the trailer for the event below. British Sea Power have promised some extra special projections, and it is not without the realms of possibility that guitarist Noble will attempt the most foolhardy climbing expedition of his life.
