FKA Twigs Unveils New Song, ‘Killer’

The track was first debuted during a Tiny Desk (Home) performance for NPR

FKA twigs has released a new song, called ‘Killer’.

The first material to be unveiled by the artist since the release of her CAPRISONGS mixtape at the start of this year, ‘Killer’ was written by twigs in collaboration with Jimmy Napes, Amanda Ghost and Jonny Coffer. She and Coffer also co-produced the track, alongside Spanish artist El Guincho. You can listen to the new song above.

In a statement about the new song, twigs said: "It’s dangerous to be a woman in love – when at its worst the effects of heartbreak can define one’s trajectory much more than the beauty of the love itself. In my song ‘Killer’, I explore this concept. The navigation, the hunt and the kill. The death of promises, dreams and the future that was once promised. But like the wildest plucked roses, I find myself more beautiful delicately wilted, in shadow, forced solace, darkened at the edges and achingly thirsting to be tended to again."

‘Killer’ is out now on Young.
