After celebrating a decade in 2015, The Great Escape returns to Brighton again in 2016 for its 11th year and now the first set of acts has been announced.
With a line-up led by Mystery Jets, playing in support of their forthcoming new album Curve of the Earth, The Great Escape will, as ever, aim to showcase and host some of the finest upcoming talent with a line-up that will eventually include over 450 artists playing across more than 30 Brighton venues. Also announced today are Oh Wonder, Shura, Mura Masa, Dilly Dally, Beach Baby, Saint Sister, Banfi, Dagny, Trudy, Declan McKenna, Rukhsana Merrise, Isaac Gracie and Kloe. Completing today’s first announcement is Alina Orlova, Ellle Exxe, Connor Youngblood, Owen Rabbit and Will Joseph Cook.
Plenty more will be added to the line-up in the months ahead of the festival which runs across multiple Brighton venues from May 19-21. 2016 will also see the festival lower the age limit to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to attend certain venues as part of the festival introducing new 16+ wristbands to the event.
