Andy Votel To Perform Polish Film Homage

Finders Keepers man to play his Kleksploitation piece alongside screening of classic video nasty flick Possession

On Friday 18 October, excellent independent label Finders Keepers will be presenting Hocus Focus, a night of Polish Film at Manchester’s The Dancehouse cinema.

Hooked around the release of Andrzej Żuławski’s 1981 horror film Possession on Blu-Ray DVD by Second Sight Films, there’ll be a screening of the film. This will be billed alongside the label’s head Andy Votel performing his audio/visual homage to the Pan Kleks trilogy of Polish children’s films released in the 80s and their soundtrack by forward-thinking composer Andrzej Korzynski. Kleksploitation is an ongoing project by Votel, which sees him collaborating with the film editor Andy Rushton to present "an entirely re-contextualised version of Korzynski’s psychedelic proto-electro scores" for the trilogy, three of the 120+ film soundtracks the composer produced.

Tickets are £8 and available here; in the meantime, watch a preview of Kleksploitation below, with the trailer for Possession following:
