Field Music Detail New LP, ‘Flat White Moon’

On the new record, the brothers wanted to make "something which just feels good and feels physical"

Field Music have shared details of a new album, Flat White Moon.

Following swiftly on from the continuous 2020 album Making A New World, the new record finds the Brewis brothers wanting to have fun. "We say it all the time: You make music with your ears and your brain first. But I trust my ears and my brain, so let’s

make something which just feels good and feels physical," Peter Brewis says.

Ahead of the album’s release, the pair have shared the politically-motivated lead track ‘No Pressure’, which you can watch a video for above. "It feels like we’re in a new political paradigm where no one takes responsibility for anything and, even worse, they don’t seem to feel any shame or remorse about it," says David Brewis of the track. "The song is like a mirror image of ‘Under Pressure’. But if that was about ‘people on the street’, this is mostly from the perspective of someone up on high insisting that nothing is his fault while the rest of us scratch around trying to hold things together."

Memphis Industries will release Flat White Moon on April 23, 2021.
