Last month, Fennesz announced a new LP, titled Agora, sharing a medley of the album’s four tracks alongside it.
Above, you can catch an exclusive first listen of the only full track to be shared from the album before its release. ‘We Trigger The Sun’ closes the album on a wave of redemptive drones, spectral synths and submerged bass frequencies, stretching out across 10 minutes.
Agora is billed as a ‘stripped-back’ LP from Christian Fennesz, coming about after the producer temporarily lost his normal full studio space and relocated part of his set-up to a small bedroom in his flat.
"It was all done on headphones, which was rather a frustrating situation at first but later on it felt like back in the day when I produced my first records in the 1990s," Fennesz says. "I used very minimal equipment. I didn’t even have the courage to plug in all the gear and instruments which were at my disposal. I just used what was to hand."
It’s his seventh solo studio album, and will be released via Touch on March 29.
