Fat Out Festival 2024 Is Announced For September

Well-established left field festival in Salford with strong emphasis on diversity returns this September

This year’s Fat Out Festival has just been announced for a number of venues in and around Salford, Greater Manchester, to run 20, 21 and 22 September.

The lineup includes tQ favourite, pipe player, Brìghde Chaimbeul; queen of new weird everywhere, Nat Sharp; writer and broadcaster Zakia Sewell; and folk singer and multi-instrumentalist Angeline Morrison; plus east London singer Nuha Ruby Ra, Kongolese live techno band Electroni Kongo and the avalanche crush of Japanese noise rockers QUJAKU.

The festival also has a nine hour party event held in the club space, courtyard, bar and top floor gallery of the wonderful Islington Mill; plus plenty of exhibitions and workshops.

There is an open call for Samarbeta, which means one musician/s who enters will be given the chance to create new work during a residency in response to the Hybrid Futures Exhibition at Salford Museum and Art Gallery, where the piece will be performed on the opening night of Fat Out Fest (the deadline is 15 July).
