WATCH: Faris Badwan On Paul Klee

The Horrors frontman looks around the Tate Modern's current exhibition of the painter's work

As part of the Tate Modern’s video interview series TateShots, Faris Badwan of The Horrors has paid a visit to the gallery’s current exhibition Paul Klee – Making Visible. As well as showing some of his own paintings and sketchbooks, Badwan offers some commentary on the pieces displayed, saying: "There’s such a range of emotion in [Klee’s] work. I think it’s quite easy for people to feel like art is inaccessible – you just feel that you can’t identify with it and secondly that you could never do something that was technically that proficient. To me, things like that don’t really mean as much as a lot of Paul Klee’s stuff, which is quite instinctive; somehow I feel it has a lot more life to it. He’s got a sort of enthusiasm which is bordering on childlike. I think more than any other artist, with Paul Klee, especially when you see it in front of you, when you see a whole body of his work, it could really send you in any direction."

Have a watch above and head to the Tate’s website for full details of the exhibition and the full TateShots series.
