Factory Floor were last year commissioned by London’s Science Museum to write a brand new live score for Fritz Lang’s 1927 silent movie, Metropolis going on to perform the 150-minute score live at the Science Museum’s IMAX in April, coinciding with the 90th anniversary of the film’s release.
Taking cues from that project, the duo’s next 12", out today, arrives via their own imprint, H/O/D Records, which they set up as a means of providing an outlet for their collaborative projects. Above, you can listen to the record’s A-side, ‘Heart of Data’, which locks into a modular groove of eerie synth textures across its near seven-minute runtime.
This is the first of two 12" releases planned by the duo on H/O/D Records for early 2018 with full length audio of the score on CD and download to follow. The record is out now and can be purchased here.
