London’s Fabric has had its license suspended following the recent deaths of two 18-year-olds that are suspected to be drug-related.
The club closed voluntarily over the weekend to allow a police investigation into the deaths to begin, but it is now reported by BBC News that the venue will be forced to remain closed until a license review is held in the next 28 days.
The Metropolitan Police have requested the suspension of the license, with a spokesman saying: “Officers felt the need to act due to concerns about the safety of those attending the club because of the supply of class A drugs in the venue and the recent deaths of two young men linked to the club.”
Fabric has yet to issue a statement on the suspension of their license, but last week said of the two deaths and the decision to close: “In order to understand how this has happened we have agreed with the police and other agencies to suspend our operation whilst we investigate.”
