Portland-based producer EPROM has announced that he will release his second album Halflife on 14th October, via Dutch label Rwina Records. In advance of the album’s release the label have put out a trailer, featuring album opener ‘Centre Of The Sun’, that you can watch via the embed above. The video merges brash and testing sound manipulation with responsive light projections that eventually give way to EPROM’s trademark heavy-handed, sparse drum work. Having already carved out a very particular and impactful merger of hip hop and dubstep across his splattering of single releases and his debut album, Metahuman, the last 20 seconds of the clip signify that, thankfully, EPROM’s very much still pushing the same soundsystem-testing boom-bap that made his production stick out so readily in the first place.
