Ian McDonnell, best known for both his work as one half of Lakker and as psych-techno producer Eomac, has recently remixed London band Safe Barracks’ debut single ‘Who Forgets Is Who Regrets’, which is out now via Save Paris. Eomac’s remix – available to listen and download via the Soundcloud link above – turns the off-kilter tonality of the original track into something with a fractured rhythmic approach, creating palpitation-inducing intensity.
Though the piece doesn’t share the same romanticism of his latest record Spectre, this is a further indication that Eomac is providing McDonnell the platform to – in his own words in a recent interview with the Quietus – "just do whatever I feel".
