Eno To Soundtrack Peter Jackson’s New Film

Er... Needles In The Camel's Eye Of Sauron? Not really, no.

Brian Eno is to compose an orginal score for Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson’s new film.

There’ll be none of Tolkien’s hobgoblins doing battle in this particular flick, however, ‘cept Mark Wahlberg’s peculiar features which experts postulate may, indeed, have been forged in the bowels of Mordor.

He’ll be trading actorly blows with Rachel Weisz in Jackson’s adaptation of The Lovely Bones, Alice Sebold’s 2002 novel about a murder victim watching friends and family from beyond the grave.

The film, which is currently being slated for a December 2009 release, marks an unusual OST venture for the Roxy Music man, whose last score was for 2005′ The Jacket, starring Adrien Brody.

Eno’s recent collaboration with David Byrne, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, is reviewed <a href"http://thequietus.com/articles/00278-david-byrne-and-brian-eno" target="object">here.
