Emptyset Unveil New Album, ‘Dissever’

The new record was first presented as a live performance at Tate Modern

Emptyset have a new album, Dissever, on the way.

Comprised of seven tracks, the new record was first presented as a live performance at London’s Tate Modern to accompany the exhibition Electric Dreams, which explored the global history of art and technology.

It sees them explore the histories of electronic sound and media from across the 20th century, drawing on rock, minimalism and electronic music, with each track performed live and captured in one single take. They used old hardware, as well as spatial and multitrack recording techniques to create the featured material.

Listen to lead track ‘Gloam’ below.

Thrill Jockey will release Dissever on May 23, 2025.
