Emika has shared a new track, titled ‘Eternity (Earth Version), and accompanying video, which you can watch above.
The track is a new, alternate version of ‘Eternity’, which featured on Emika’s 2018 album Falling In Love With Sadness. Both the original and new version were co-produced by Emika and electro producer The Exaltics.
‘Eternity (Earth Version)’ sees the pair strip away the driving kick drums of the original, bringing Emika’s vocals to the fore, initially over a string and piano-based arrangement. The video, meanwhile, was shot with the help of Czech fashion photographer Bet Orten, with whom Emika had previously connected while shooting the cover art for her 2018 album.
"Bet and I were both around eight months pregnant when we shot the cover art for Falling In Love With Sadness, and we filmed some of the video then," Emika explains. "We decided to meet up again after we’d had our babies at the same location in the Czech countryside, and develop the idea further. It became a young mum art mission – breast feeding between takes."
She continues: "The earthy vibes in the video reflect a return to my true self, away from the technology and everything else I previously identified with as an artist."
‘Eternity (Earth Version)’ is out now and Emika is working on a new album, which is due soon.
