WATCH: EMA – Satellites

New album The Future's Void confirmed for April release

We heard the supremely ace ‘Satellites’, the opener from EMA’s new album The Future’s Void, last month, and now Erika M. Anderson has unveiled her self-directed video for the track, marking the news that the record’s got a confirmed release date of April 7 via City Slang/Matador.

The album’s been recorded with Portland-based producer Leif Shackelford, with the text accompanying the video explaining that the album’s lyrical focus is on answering "the question so often put to her during the last round of press and interviews: ‘How does it feel?’ to be pushed through a media vortex and back", while "the sound of this record reflects these themes and instead of using electronics to create a polished, airless environment, Anderson’s techno-future thrashes strongly between harsh tones and paranoia, to beautiful colour bursts and mellow guitar strums."
