Einsturzende Neubauten are set to perform a series of special events in commemoration and celebration of 30 years making some of the finest, most uncompromising music out there. The rather ace sounding tour will see Neubauten playing two consecutive concerts in major cities around the world "that are close to the band’s heart".
A posting on their website (check out the excellent meeting of trouser and shoe on the background image) explains the form that these events will take: "It won’t simply be a concert in each of the respective cities on the anniversary tour: an additional day is planned, in which the band will present further facets of their [work]. That’s to say, it will be: an evening with Einstürzende Neubauten.
"On the the first night the band will play a ‘big’ concert with Neubauten material of the 30 years of their existence.
"The second night will divided into of three parts: starting with films and installations, followed by a ‘smaller’ concert than the night before but presenting material’ that has either never or not been played live in a long time.
"The night will be completed with shows and performances of the individual Neubauten band members’ solo projects."
The London dates for these 30th anniversary events will be at the Forum on October 16th and the Garage – yes, the Garage – on October 17th. Ticket details will be available soon, watch this space.
