Eglo Records, the London-based label co-founded by Rinse FM DJ Alexander Nut and Floating Points, are to celebrate their third birthday at Fabric on Thursday 8th March. Over the last three years Eglo has swiftly established itself as one of the UK’s most interesting and diverse labels, with its roster taking in everything from Floating Points’ cosmic house and boogie to Fatima’s silken soul, madcap acid from Funkineven and ARP101’s dizzying funk/hip-hop fusions.
The label have already put on several events in Fabric’s Room 3, regularly bringing their own artists alongside special guests, but this evening sees them ply their wares in Room One (aka the room equipped with one of London’s best soundsystems). The line-up for the night is impressive, and features the majority of the label’s associated artists, including the debut of Floating Points’ new live show, a performance from the Eglo Records Live Band (featuring vocals from Fatima, Olivier Day Soul and Shuanise), Alex Nut, ARP101 and Funkineven. They’ve also invited along Andres (also known as DJ Dez from Slum Village), a long-running producer and DJ from Detroit, who regularly releases music through Moodymann’s Mahogani Music label.
Tickets are £12.50, and the full line-up runs as follows:
w/ Floating Points (LIVE), Eglo Records Live Band ft. Fatima, Olivier Day Soul, Shuanise, Alexander Nut, Funkineven, ARP101 (live), Andres (Mahogani Music/Slum Village)
