tQ At Great Escape: EIY & Grumbling Fur

We host two of our favourites down in Brighton

Next month, The Quietus will be availing ourselves of the opportunity to visit Brighton’s stony yet secluded nudist beach thanks to our involvement with the 2014 Great Escape Festival, which takes place in the seaside town between May 8th and 10th. On Thursday 8th, The Quietus and The Quietus Phonographic Corporation will be commandeering one of our favourite venues in Brighton, The Green Door Store, for a late night concert by Grumbling Fur and our old mucker East India Youth. This is a notable event, and we look forward to seeing some of you there.

Also at The Great Escape will be the Finnish government, promoting the likes of Quietus favourite Jaako Eino Kalevi, along with live sets from other greats like Wild Beasts, These New Puritans, Kelis, Jon Hopkins, Future Islands, Fat White Family, Royal Blood, Le1f, Deathcrush, Girl Band, Patten etc. You can find out more about The Great Escape and buy tickets here. Watch the video for Grumbling Fur’s wonderful cosmic Hovis anthem ‘The Ballad Of Roy Batty’ above.
