TOY Set For New East End Live Festival

East End Film Festival gets new one-day music event, with TOY, Teeth Of The Sea and more on the bill

The East End Film Festival has announced that TOY will be heading up the bill for East End Live, a new one day music event taking place as part of the festival.

East End Live will be held on July 13, the same day as the Independent Label Market and will start at 5pm, following up the ILM’s daytime trading activities, and run through to 5am the following morning, taking place across five east London venues, with proceeds going to the charity Enough Food For Everyone If.

Joining Toy on the bill will be Wet Nuns, Perspex Flesh, Charles De Goal, Scott & Charlene’s Wedding, Moon Zero and Skinny Girl Diet.

UPDATE – April 30: Teeth Of The Sea, The Monochrome Set, Charles Hayward, Joseph Coward and Indesinence have all been added to the bill – have a watch of Coward interviewing The Monochrome Set below.

Additionally, there’ll be a number of warm-up parties held in advance of the festival: alongside a launch party for former Jesus And Mary Chain bassist Douglas Hart’s solo record on an as-yet-unconfirmed date at The Griffin in May, Purson will be playing the Vibe Bar on May 21 and Charles Hayward’s doing a set at The Old Blue Last on June 24.

Early bird tickets are a snip at a mere £10; get hold of them here. To whet your appetite, have a look at the excellent folk from TOY being interviewed by two of Charlie Boyer’s Voyeurs on their recent Heavenly trip to Paris below, and keep an eye on the Quietus for further news on East End Live.
