Duran Duran Lured By Lovebox

N.E.R.D. also confirmed for London park party

Yacht-rock arrivistes Duran Duran, and N.E.R.D. will headline this year’s Lovebox weekender.

The pair will join third headliner and festival founders Groove Armada in London’s Victoria Park on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July respectively.

Other new additions include Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Ladyhawke and Simian Mobile Disco. A bumper crop.

Duran Duran play the gig as part of their forthcoming world tour.

With the world’s bankers balefully queuing-up to hurl themselves from ninth-storey windows, The Quietus can only applaud the timing shown by Thatcher’s favourite New Romantic band.

Lead singer Simon Le Bon also revealed on the Duran Duran blog this week that Mark Ronson and Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson will be helping them craft a new album of “MODERN ENGLISH ROCK”.
