Moodymann, Mr. Fingers & More Remix Dua Lipa

'Club Future Nostalgia' is curated by the artist herself, alongside DJ and producer The Blessed Madonna

Dua Lipa and The Blessed Madonna have curated a remix album for the former’s 2020 record Future Nostalgia.

The pair have assembled a strong cast of DJs and producers to remix tracks from the album, the original of which appeared in our round-up of this year’s best albums so far. Amongst the artists who’ve reworked tracks from Future Nostalgia are key US house figures such as Moodymann, Mr. Fingers and Masters At Work, Vancouver’s Jayda G, Korean-American producer Yaeji, and UK figures such as Midland, Paul Woolford and Mark Ronson.

The Blessed Madonna has also contributed two remixes to the album, which has been assembled as a mixtape by the US DJ. Amongst those remixes is her take on ‘Levitating’, which debuted last week and features guest vocals from Madonna and Missy Elliott. Assembling the mixtape, The Blessed Madonna has also weaved in samples from the likes of Neneh Cherry, Gwen Stefani and Jamiroquai, as well as phrases from iconic house, soul and disco records by the likes of Robert Owens, The Art Of Noise, Lyn Collins, and Larry Heard.

"The last few months have been surreal," Dua Lipa says of the COVID-19 lockdown that began when she released Future Nostalgia earlier this year. "I’ve watched you all dance in your homes and on your Zoom parties to Future Nostalgia like you were in the club with me. It brought so much joy to my days spent at home, even though I would’ve much rather been playing these songs live for you all on the road.

"During this time, I decided to take the party up a notch with the incomparable The Blessed Madonna, who secretly helped me to craft the mixtape that would become Club Future Nostalgia. We invited some friends and legends to join in on the fun with us."

Warner will release Club Future Nostalgia on August 28, 2020.
