Tresor To Release Drexciya Graphic Novel

The 76-page book will chronicle the Afrofuturist mythology of James Stinson and Gerald Donald's much-loved project

Tresor is releasing a graphic novel based on the Afrofuturist works of Drexciya.

Put together by Detroit-based visual artist Abdul Qadim Haqq and Japanese screenwriter Dai Sato, with the approval of Gerald Donald and the late James Stinson’s mother, the 76-page book chronicles five chapters of Drexciya’s Afrofuturist mythology. According to a press release, the book will "follow the story of the first Drexciyan, his subaquatic birth, growing up in the caves of Ociya Syndor, later to become Drexaha, the empire’s first king." Readers will also get to follow the stories of other Drexciyan figures such as Dr. Blowfin and the wavejumpers.

Tresor will release The Book of Drexciya, Vol. 1 on May 22. Find more information here.
