Drew McDowall Details New CD Box Set, ‘Lamina’

The six-disc set takes in rarities, live recordings and other material

Drew McDowall is set to release a new box set, Lamina, through Dais Records.

Out in May, the six-CD set takes in expanded editions of his last four albums on Dais: Agalma, The Third Helix, Unnatural Channel and Collapse. The release marks the first time that all four albums have been made available on CD.

In addition, Lamina – which takes its name from the Latin word for ‘layer’ – also features a disc of rare and previously unreleased recordings (Undulations And Abberations, and a final disc featuring four live performances by McDowall (Entanglement).

"Compiling Lamina was a process of excavation that felt more like psychoanalysis than sonic archaeology," McDowall said in a statement. "Digging into my archives felt like a mix of psychoanalysis and archaeology – uncovering buried things."

Dais Records will release Lamina on May 26, 2023.
