Very good, vastly influential techno operator gives away his Peel Sessions

Regis is something of a legend in British techno circles. Member of British Murder Boys alongside Surgeon and more recently a member of the Sandwell District collective (now sadly defunct), he’s produced some of the starkest, sternest and most uncompromising dance music of the last two decades. Much of it has recently been re-released on CD and digitally through his label Downwards, in a compilation entitled Adolescence which charted his earlier history – you can read our review of the compilation here. More recently he’s also been responsible for some devastating remixes – his take on VCMG’s ‘Spock’ and a new one of Vatican Shadow for the Blackest Ever Black label spring to mind.

Regis recorded two sessions for the late, great John Peel on the BBC. Downwards have now made them available for free download (via FACT). You can download them here.
