As we reported last month, The Pop Group’s Mark Stewart is returning with a new album next year. It was preceded last month with a limited edition double A-side 7" of 500 copies, featuring a firey cover of T. Rex’s ‘Children Of The Revolution’ (in collaboration with Kevin Martin’s The Bug alias) and ‘Nothing Is Sacred’.
The single has now sold out, but we’re very pleased to be able to offer ‘Nothing Is Sacred’ as a free download. It finds Stewart teaming up with a formidable array of musicians – Crass’s Eve Libertine, Berlin’s Slope and Pop Group bassist Dan Catsis. It feels neatly timed for a week of political turmoil and strike action – in it, Stewart focuses his ire on the destructive power of greed in the modern world.
