Scotland’s Doune The Rabbit Hole festival is gearing up for its third year, with this year’s edition taking place from 24th-26th August. Run by the small Doune The Rabbit Hole CIC company, who promote free creative education for children, this year the festival is relocating to a reconstruction of a medieval fortified village at Duncarron Fort near Kilsyth, which is good news for all fans of the motte and bailey fort.
On the bill so far are gently strummed folk from Withered Hand, angular sax-driven post-punk act Blurt and ex-Arab Strap man/general person of excellence Aidan Moffat with Bill Wells, bringing their piano and double-bass arrangements to the festival. There’s also the small matter of Optimo’s JD Twitch, who will be playing a DJ set on the Friday night – expect his usual genre-bending dancefloor antics.
