WATCH: New DJINN Video

Rocket Recordings signees DJINN share a video for new track 'Djinn and Djuice'

DJINN, the band comprised of members of Swedish bands Hills and GOAT, have shared a video for new track ‘Djinn and Djuice’ ahead of the release of their self-titled debut album. You can watch the video above.

The band’s name draws inspiration from the mysterious spirits of Arab folklore, a name which sets the tone for the spirituality and mystery of their sound. Drawing inspiration from jazz musicians like Alice Coltrane and Don Cherry, Rocket Recordings says their self-titled debut will be the “first ‘proper’ jazz record’ released on the label.

Despite its humorous title, ‘Djinn and Djuice’ is an example of the sensitivity and restraint the anonymous members of DJINN hope to apply to their jazz and new age influences. You can preorder the album directly from the label ahead of its release on Friday (May 17) here. DJINN will play Oxfordshire’s Supernormal Festival, which takes place from August 2-4.
