DJ /rupture & Andy Moor To Play Cafe Oto

The pair continue their collaborative efforts with a new show at London's Cafe Oto

DJ /rupture and The Ex’s Andy Moor will team up at London’s Cafe Oto next week to perform a unique show featuring turntables, guitar and electronics.

The performance will see the pair move between free improvisation and something resembling a turntablist DJ set. Part of the set will see them present a live soundtrack to the films of data artist Josh Begley. The duo first soundtracked Begley’s short film Best Of Luck With The Wall, released last year, which used 200,000 Google Maps images to show the entire length of the U.S.-Mexico border. For this show they will present a new version of that film along with other new works by Begley.

This is the latest in a string of collaborations between Rupture and Moor who first worked together in 2007 and later released their debut album, entitled Patches, in 2009. The pair’s collaborations frequently combine Rupture’s impressive efforts as a DJ, in which he’s been known to test the conventions of what can be done with turntables, with Moor’s guitar-playing as a member of The Ex. You can check out a preview of their work on Josh Begley’s aforementioned film above.

The show at Cafe Oto takes place on June 9 and you can get tickets here.
