LISTEN: Dizzee Rascal – ‘H Town’

Listen to the first track from grime alumnus' new album The Fifth

A full decade since the release of his classic debut, Boy In Da Corner and a year after making a very welcome appearance in Danny Boyle’s Olympic Opening Ceremony, grime luminary Dizzee Rascal has announced that he will return this summer with his fifth full-length, titled, erm, The Fifth. The first track to emerge from the album, ‘H Town’, has just been made available, and features guest appearances from Bun-B and Trae The Truth. You can listen to it above, and it’s available from iTunes now.

"The collaboration for this song started with Bun," said Dizzee of the track. "I came to Houston and had a good time and it stuck with me, I was doing a mixtape at the time and I ended up writing about it and recorded it, I sent it to Bun and he got on it straight away. When I came to Atlanta to record the album I saw Trae in the studio and we decided to do the video."

The track itself – an ominous, rolling hip-hop cut – is some distance from either the caustic grime with which he made his name or the bounding, club-centric electro/pop of Dizzee’s latest work. It trails an album which will be his first since signing a worldwide deal with Universal, and which promises to "put together a crack team of experts [to] go for the global jugular."
