Divide And Dissolve Detail New Album, ‘Systemic’

"This music is an acknowledgement of the dispossession that occurs due to colonial violence," the group's Takiaya Reed says of the album

Divide And Dissolve have a new album on the way.

Titled Systemic, the nine-track record examines the systems that bind us together, and calls for a system that facilitates life for everyone, press materials revealed. Like its predecessor, 2020’s Gas Lit, the album was produced by Ruban Neilson of Unknown Mortal Orchestra. You can watch a video for lead cut ‘Blood Quantum’ below.

Speaking about Systemic, Divide And Dissolve saxophonist and guitarist Takiaya Reed said: “This music is an acknowledgement of the dispossession that occurs due to colonial violence. The goal of the colonial project is to separate Indigenous people from their culture, their life force, their community and their traditions. The album is in direct opposition to this.”

Invada will release Systemic on June 30, 2023.
