Some enterprising individual recently came up with the dubious idea of ‘home clubbing’ – which consists of beaming live broadcasts of far-flung raves straight into your idiot box so you and your small gathering of friends can feel like you’re part of the action. While skipping the queueing, cavity searches, expensive drinks, and gruelling cab ride home might seem like a good idea, I don’t know why anyone would want to experience Ibiza without the weather.
Luckily, event organisers Ditto have found a better use of bandwidth. They call it "a one-off performance of music, film, visual art and dance" which will be broadcast for free on the internet this Saturday night at 7:30. Afterword, all record of the event will be erased, leaving those who tuned-in feeling smug.
Cryptic as that might sound, it may be worth a watch if you find yourself at a loss on saturday night – and if you miss it, I guess you’ll never know.
