Discogs Release 2015 Sales Stats

Music marketplace reveals more than 6 million records were sold through the site in 2015

Discogs has shared a number of statistics charting activity on the site in 2015 leading with the news that 6.6 million records, five million of which were vinyl, were sold through the site in 12 months.

As FACT reports, vinyl sales through the site in 2015 were up over a million since 2014, and the site’s stats revealed rather unsurprisingly that the most popular genre on the Discogs market was rock. Pop came in second and electronic music third.

The record that sold the most copies on Discogs in 2015 was Fleetwood Mac’s classic Rumours at 3680 units. Michael Jackson’s Thriller came in second and Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories third. The most expensive release was Judge’s Chung King Can Suck It which sold for $6048. The Smith’s Hand In Glove also ranked in the top 10 at $3119. To check the full list of stats, click here.
