The Quietus has learned of a thrilling one-off collaboration at tonight’s Brit Awards: ‘White Noise’ hit makers Disclosure are teaming up for a live performance with New Zealand pop sensation Lordi.
Guy and Howard Lawrence of the flip flop house duo said: “We’ve been talking to Lordi via Skype arranging tonight’s performance and although she looks quite different to her photographs, her voice seems to have altered slightly since Pure Heroine last year and she seems to be suffering some kind of demonic possession, we’re still looking forward to the collaboration.
"We offered to rework her hit single ‘Royals’ but instead she said she wanted us to concentrate on two other songs we weren’t familiar with, ‘Bringing Back The Balls To Rock’ and ‘Hellbender Turbulence’."
Lordi, the 17-year-old Kiwi pop starlet, said: “We’re glad to join the long list of edgy and avant-garde artists like AlunaGeorge and London Grammar who Disclosure have worked with over the years."
She went on to thank the sponsors of the BRITs: “I’d like to thank Oil Of Olay, Anton LaVey’s Church Of Satan, Mmmm Danone and the Chicken Cottage on Surbiton High Street. I’d like to offer special thanks to the PR team from Mastercard for their #PricelessSurprises edict. They’re keeping the true spirit of rock & roll alive and maintaining the BRITs as the annual highlight of any true music fan’s calendar.”
