LISTEN: Dirty Electronics & Nicholas Bullen – Untitled

The two reunite for Supersonic, share new song, want you to make synths

John Richards’ work as Dirty Electronics has brought him into collaboration with Scorn and Napalm Death founder Nic Bullen before, most notably as Black Galaxy from 2003 onwards. They’ll join forces again at this year’s Supersonic festival for a special set harnessing the power of the Mute Synth, a Mute Records-commissioned synth that Richards himself designed. The duo were kind enough to share an exclusive stream of the track with us, ready for your ears above.

On top of that, the two will be running a special workshop at the festival, inviting participants to build and design their own sound object/synth. It promises to be genuinely fascinating so sign up here as places are extremely limited. If you’re a filthy cheat and you expect other people to make your noise machines for you, you can always get your hands on the second run of the Mute Synth (the first one sold out almost immediately). It looks utterly batshit. Supersonic takes place June 11-14 in the warehouses and galleries of Birmingham. Tickets range from £15 to £95 for the full weekend and can be purchased from the festival’s website.
