Desperate Journalist have revealed the video for ‘Why Are You So Boring?’ from their second album Grow Up, released earlier this year via Fierce Panda.

Lyrically, ‘Why Are You So Boring?’ is cutting, but with an eye-rolling lightness that’s clear in the video above. Singer Jo Bevan describes the track as "a protest song about tossers."

She adds: "The song is inspired by a certain type of irritating person I’ve spent many evenings with in pubs and at gigs and at clubs and at houses. People who think they are desperately interesting and original and crucially, more desperately interesting and original than anyone they meet, because they have once in their lives given something cultural or political more than a modicum of thought, or because they have been told that they have.

"These people and their lack of self-awareness and their patronising chatter and their awful flirting techniques are everywhere. They aren’t charming, and they’re ten a penny."

‘Why Are You So Boring?’ is the fourth and final track to be released from Grow Up, and comes ahead of a headline show at The Dome in Tufnell Park on October 19. You can get tickets for that show here. You can find all of the band’s upcoming tour dates here.
