Design Museum To Open Electronic Music Exhibition

'Electronic' will feature contributions from Jeff Mills and more

London’s Design Museum has announced a new exhibition centred around international club culture.

Electronic forms part of the museum’s 2020 programme of events and will run from April 1 – July 26. The Design Museum promises that the exhibition will cover the history of dance music and dancefloors "from Detroit to Chicago, Paris, Berlin and the UK".

Kraftwerk’s 3D experience will form part of the exhibition, alongside other installations, while Jeff Mills, Ellen Allien, Jean-Michel Jarre and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop will all also contribute.

German artist and photographer Andreas Gursky will add large-scale images related to rave culture, while French DJ Laurent Garnier will contribute a "genre-spanning" soundtrack, according to the Design Museum. There will also be graphics from Peter Saville.

Tickets for the exhibition go on sale on November 20. Find more information here.
